Ethos (Credibility), or ethical appeal, means convincing by the character of the author.
Pathos (Emotional) means persuading by appealing to the reader's emotions.
Logos (Logical) means persuading by the use of reasoning.

In the letter, I could see a lot of reasoning used, and it also brought up a little bit of the author's character.
Firstly, in paragraph 1, "As a concerned parent who lost a child to a gun accident...", this brought out the fact that he is one who is very concerned about the safety of others. In paragraph 7, " If we continue making it so easy, our nation will continue to have gun-related domestic fatalities...", this statement also brought out his concern for the society.
Also in the letter, reasonings could be found form paragraph 2 to 5. In those paragraphs, Mr Simmons brought up a lot of information to support his point. Among those information, he also brought up a lot points to help Mr Simmons in his fight for stricter gun control legislations. These points he brought up brings up a lot of reason for stricter gun control legislations, which supports my point that in the letter, logos appears a lot of times.
Unfortunately, I am unable to find any pathos in the letter.

Activity 3: Analysis of Letter by Elgin Patt (15)
He used Ethos in paragraph 1 and the second last paragraph. To gain the congressman's respect, he stated that "I have been so impressed with your past voting record" Therefore he hopes that the congressman would vote for the outlawing of guns. In the second last paragraph,"The reason that I have such an intense interest in this topic is that my son was killed by a gun (not my own) that belonged to a person who only wanted to protect his household" he shows that he is credible on the topic
He used Pathos in the last two paragraphs. When he states "The reason that I have such an intense interest in this topic is that my son was killed by a gun (not my own) that belonged to a person who only wanted to protect his household, but it fell into the hands of a child by mistake." Besides using Ethos, he is using Pathos to appeal to the congressman emotionally by making him feel the grief of having his son killed by a misfire. In the last paragraph, he states "I believe in our rights as citizens of the United States, especially the right to LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." He wants to appeal through vivid language, through beliefs and rights.

By stating in the letter that the writer was a parent who had lost a child to a gun incident, makes him more credible. As he had experienced the consequence of the absence of a strict gun control law, the congressman would more likely take him more seriously and consider his point of view.
He also stated the likely argument of the opponents of gun control, and went on to state why their argument was not credible. This shows that he is fair and not one-sided, and also has researched well into this topic before he wrote the letter.
Logos (logic):
The writer used a lot of figures to support his point of view, and not just bluntly stating his opinions. He used credible sources like the FBI and evidence from the Kellermann study, instead of websites from the internet, to show that his opinion was backed up.
He also used the phrase "Did you know" to make the congressman more aware of the fact, as he most likely did not know about it in the first place.
Pathos (appealing to the emotions/values):
The writer also appealed to the emotions and values of the congressman by telling him of the consequences that would come if laws on the ownership of guns were not tightened. He also asked a few thinking questions, to further persuade the congressman to vote for stricter laws.

Pathos: The writer goes on talk on how dangerous it is that guns are allowed in the United States. This makes the recipient feel that it is a very real, and very major threat to the country's citizens, so that the congressman will feel motivated to change laws in the U.S. about gun control
Logos: The writer gives statistics, which help tune the reader's sense of logic as the statistics offered denoted that it was very threatening if gun control was not implemented.

The rest were cases of fights among family members which resulted in the use of guns.

In the first sentence, John uses Pathos to appeal to the emotions of the Congressman by first complimenting him. This makes him feel better and will more likely accept the proposal. John also uses Ethos to make himself more credible, saying that he has experienced such problems listed.
In the second paragraph, by using the phrase “fairly straightforward”, John makes the problem seem so clear. Following that, he uses Logos to appeal to the logical side of the Congressman, through the use of many statistics. By using “Did you know”, he make the Congressman think that it is alright to change his mind as he was not informed about some facts. He then ended the paragraph with, “It is much higher now.” This approach uses Pathos, where the consequences are pushed to the unknown, to make the problem seem much bigger.
In the third paragraph, John introduces another problem — still related, but from another perspective. This uses Ethos to make himself look more just and credible. He then uses Logos to make a counter-argument and then relating it to his stand. He continues by using “Did you know” again to show more statistics.
In the fourth paragraph, John, using Logos, states another reason that is against his point, but uses makes it the minorities that agree to this reason. He then uses statistics to cancel out that reason.
In the fifth paragraph, John uses Ethos, Pathos and Logos to show statistics. These statistics are very accurate — even showing the raw data that was collected. This makes it seem more reliable. He then uses Ethos, by penning down the researchers’ names and the company that published the work, which were all famous. The big numbers in the statistics, using Pathos, makes the Congressman feel that the problem is very severe, and should be solved immediately.
In the sixth paragraph, John repeats his point, in the first paragraph, about the problem being very personal to him. He then uses Pathos to make the Congressman feel responsible for all such cases that will happen in the future — a responsibility too big to handle — through the question, “Do you want to be responsible for supporting legislation that would make more such incidents occur?”
In the last paragraph, John stated, “Knowing all this, do you really think we can continue to allow citizens to buy guns so easily?” This appeals to his emotions, conveying the message that if he does not do something about it, he is rather foolish. He then proceeded to blow up his designation by using “as citizens of the United States” He emphasises his first point in this paragraph by using the word, “unquestionably”.

The author uses Logos to persuade politicians to change gun ownership law by only showing the negative effects of owning a gun and of many examples showing that guns are harmful to lives and are not really used as intended.The author also states problems that arise from the present gun ownership laws to further attempt to persuade the audience.He states the number of deaths,murders,injuries and such caused by guns,and the monetary costs of these.This letter is supported by a lot of facts,so it persuades the audience by telling them doing what the author is trying to persuade them to do is logical to prevent or reduce these deaths,murders,injuries and such.Showing the problems caused by the present gun ownership law makes use of Pathos,and so makes use of Logos to the audience that what the author is trying to persuade them to do is correct,and this makes them more likely to be successful in their attempt at persuasion.

Kaixuan's Article
Audi failed
A car was badly wrecked when a school bus rammed into it during the early morning peak period. The accident which happened outside Ah Beng Chinese School (ABC) caused panic among students and teachers. Fortunately for the students who got off earlier. However, the parent, getting off the car to send his child to the school gate. The bus rammed into the car blocking the road.
Witnessing the accident was a Kay Poh walking by the road.
“The black Audi R8 Spyder was blocking the road. Then a bus turn 180° back and speeded out of the school gate and it rammed hard on the black Audi R8 Spyder.”
The bus driver then immediately came out of the bus unscathed. A few minutes later a man came running out and shouted some holy words pointing to his wrecked-into-pieces Audi R8 Spyder.
No one was injured except for the Audi R8 Spyder owner who cried beside his car for an hour. Police are still investigating the matter, it might be suspected someone sabotaged the brake by changing it to the accelerate pedal.

A bus rammed into a car of a parent but thankfully no one was hurt. The bus slammed into the rear end of the car. The driver is believed to have been drunk at that time.
The bus driver was believed to have been drunk at that time. However, he has denied all claims that he was drunk at that time. According to the bus driver, the parent’s car had been in his way. “He was parked illegally and hence it is not my fault.”
According to the parent, although he had parked at the curb, there was enough space for the bus to drive past him. “Although I was parked at the curb, there was still enough space for the bus to change lane as it was a two-way road. "

Unway was thrown out from his car due to the collision. thankfully, he landed on a discarded feather bed at the side of the road and sustained only injuries from broken glass shards and a “minor” concussion.
“all that we heard, was a crash and the shrieks of mr Patton R. Unway said the principal, Mr chua. the students of the school of shawn and twaihang stopped their classes to have a look at the accident. another eyewitness, 56 year old mr lim, said that the accident happened too fast, and before he knew what was happening, Mr Patton R Unway was already lying on the pavement. the accident caused a minor traffic jam, but was quickly resolved thanks to the quick thinking of police officers on site. The driver of the bus, who was unhurt, said that he was not the one at fault for causing the accident. However, mr Patton R Unway denies that he was the one at fault too. The two are looking forward to a court case.
Rain Causes Tree Falls
Heavy rain on Monday morning caused a tree branch to fall on a school bus and a car outside MEH school. Two students were injured.
Mrs Dionne Chua was driving along Average Avenue to MEH school behind a school bus when the accident took place. Many students and parents heard the loud racket caused by the accident.
A parent, Mr Chua, standing near the accident saw the tree fall from the top of the bus on to the rear of the car. He said “The accident happened so fast I could not react to it.”
Bus driver, Mr Patt, said he heard a long bang on the roof of his vehicle. He was puzzle by what caused it but he continued driving, causing the tree to fall from the roof of his bus on to the car.
The damage caused by the fallen tree was great and it is said to cost the bus company an estimated $10 000. Apart from this, many people were caught up in the jam, thus being late for work or school.

Mr Patt, a 51 year old P.E teacher was driving out of the school gate when a public SMRT bus collided into the car. Mr Patt sustained major injuries. Traffic has been diverted since the accident. ‘It was sad to see Mr Patt in an accident, he was our favourite teacher,’ said a secondary one student who did not want to be named. His colleague, Mr Elgin Low said, ‘I saw the whole scenario. Mr Patt’s car was rammed against a wall when he was driving out, and Mr Patt lay unconscious in the car, injured.’ Mr Patt was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he was diagnosed with 5 bone fractures and a punctured kidney. The doctor said that he would need physical therapy for 1 month and he will be discharged after 2 months. Lemons for Parents After Incident
SINGAPORE: School of Science and Technology (SST) in a dilemma after parents and bus driver got into a fight. On Tuesday, a bus hired by the school was involved in an accident with a parent’s car near the school compounds.
On Tuesday morning, a bus hired by SST was involved in a traffic accident with one of the parent’s car. The SST principal, Mr Chua Z.W., expresses his thoughts. “The school is greatly sorry for the incident. However we believe that the incident was not caused by the bus and instead, the parent.”
Witnesses say that the parent’s car, a jet black Honda Civic, took the turn way too quickly to be considered “safe”. The bus driver from E.L.Q.B. Bus Company, Mr Elgin Low, said that this type of incident has never happened before in his line of work. The driver of the Honda begged to differ.
“I was taking the turn as I did not see any vehicle on the road. When I was halfway through the turn, the bus appeared and ran into my car. I demand compensation for this accident.” said the driver of the car, who only wanted to be known as Mrs Choo.
Mr Low suffered minor injuries while Mrs Choo was traumatized momentarily after sustaining minor injuries from the accident.
Students who were on their way to school that day described the incident as horrifying and something that they did not want to see again. When asked to voice their views, many said that the Black Honda was barely visible.
However Mrs Choo insists that she was not in the wrong. She is demanding compensation from both SST and E.L.Q.B Bus Company to cover for her losses and medical fee.
Mrs Choo and Mr Low are having their statements taken down by the police while Mr Chua, on the other hand, is helping the police in their investigations.

Mr Arius Hole flew 13 kilometers from the crash site and so happened to land in the sea where he suffer 59 broken bones, a pieced lung, a ruptured kidney, a broken spine and cracked skull. After that, he was seen climbing out of the sea and was taken to the hospital while was recover completely 2 hours upon reaching. Mr Yo was unconscious and sent to the hospital immediately.
However, Mr Hole insists the he was not in the wrong and demand $1 from Mr yo to cover his medical fees.

Bus and Car Accident, Great Impact
SINGAPORE - A school bus and a parent's car collided at the front gate of the School of Science and Technology, Singapore (SST) yesterday during the early morning traffic rush.
The accident happened at around 7.20 am, causing the whole stretch of road to be congested. It was said to be one of the worst traffic jams that ever happened in Singapore. Mr Tan, the bus driver claimed that the cause of the accident was the parent's car sudden swerve into the lane. He was not able to brake in time to stop the bus from crashing into the car. Ironically, the car was trying to avoid a blue Honda Civic, which had suddenly turned into the lane, travelling in the opposite direction.
Mrs Lee, a resident of Clementi Avenue 6, happened to be walking by and witnessed the accident. She said "I was walking on the pavement when I heard a loud crash. I turned around and was shocked to see the car accident. I called for the ambulance immediately."
The ambulance arrived 15 minutes later, and Mr Lim, the driver of the car, was whisked away to the hospital as he seemed to sustain some injuries. Thankfully, the students inside the bus just experienced a bit of a bump, and no one was hurt. However, the student in the car, Troy Lim, was more than a little shaken up, and he was still quivering as his fellow peers helped him out of the car.
"I saw my father suddenly change the direction and I sensed that something was wrong. So I buried my head in my hands and ducked for protection. I was terrified, afraid that we were going to crash into the tree nearby, but luckily we did not. I only suffered minor scratches on my arms, but it was a truly terrifying incident," said Troy Lim.
Mr Chua Boon Hua, principal of SST, apologised on behalf of the school for what had happened. The school is working with the Land Transport Authority to make the directional signage more obvious to the users of the roads to ensure that such accidents would not happen again.
Investigations are still going on as police are still trying to verify the cause of the incident.

SINGAPORE: When Mr Patt was waiting to pick up his children from SST Junior School, he did not expect for his children to ‘pick him up from the ground’. A school bus returning to school after an outing accidentally rammed the rear of Mr Patt’s car, throwing him to the ground.
Mr Elgin Patt, a 41 year old pet shop owner, said that he was waiting for his son, Edwin Patt, inside the carpark at the school compounds when the accident occurred. He was stepping out of the car to answer the calls of nature when his car suddenly moved and threw him to the ground.
Teachers and students at the school said that they heard a loud crash around 6:30pm and Mr E.Low, a 54 year old Art teacher, said that it was very chaotic.
“When I heard the crash, I ran outside and saw the school bus with a crumpled front a few meters behind a silver BMW with its rear severely deformed and a parent looking dazed and confused by the car.”
Mr Patt received treatment for minor cuts and bruises, and the children were safely taken off the bus. Most were calm and the accident was cleared after 30 minutes.
“When the bus suddenly jolted and we heard the loud crash, we were very scared.We thought that we were going to die.Only after our teacher told us to follow him off the bus did we know that it was not serious. ”
Said Diane Choo, a friend and classmate of Edwin Patt.
This is the first vehicle accident that has happened in SST Junior School’s 3 year history.The schools that we interviewed said that similar things have happened to them before, usually because one of the drivers was not paying attention.
The police are still investigating the incident.If the accident was caused by a driver not paying attention to the road due to reasons including, but not limited to, being drunk, on the phone, reading a newspaper, talking, and wearing a blindfold.The punishments vary from a $100-1 000 000 fine, 1week, if serious,life imprisonment in addition to compensation.

CAR GETS A SCAR, BUS GETS BUSTED.

It was 1.30pm in the afternoon yesterday. The students of School of Science & Technology (SST) were just released from class. Student Lin Teck Soon was going to go home in his father’s (Lin Xin Hock) car. For 17 years, Mr. Lin has been a private taxi driver, and conveniently sends and fetches his son to and from school every day. Mr. Lin, 43, patiently waits outside the school gates of SST every afternoon to send his son home.
As usual, Teck Soon got into the car. When they were driving off, disaster struck. Mr. Lin sees an SST bus (bus 017) that routinely ferries students to and from their houses. The bus reverses in the car-park, which is nothing really abnormal. What happens next is that the bus accelerates squarely towards Mr. Lin’s car, which is parked just outside the car-park in the school. Luckily, Mr. Lin reverses in time to save himself, but not his car. The bus shears off the front of Mr. Lin’s car, shattering the glass on the lights and destroying the front car number plate.
That was the least of the bus driver’s worries as the bus continued towards the highway, which was fraught with cars. A car sped towards the bus, its driver trying frantically to brake it. However, collision was eminent this driver however, was not so lucky. The front chassis was obliterated, which also bore a big gaping hole in the bus bottom. That finally put a stop to the rampaging bus. The bus driver, and the car driver, got out of their vehicles, and moved to the side of the road to access the damage. There was no further dispute as the bus driver has agreed to settle the charges for repairs.
The police came to clear the site a while later. In the process, arresting the bus driver.
Luckily, the bus driver, its passengers, Mr. Lin, and the driver of the second car (who wished to be unnamed) were safe. However, the bus driver was charged in court after investigation, as he was found to have been drink-driving at the point of time.
Mr. Lin expresses his thoughts of this incident as “a big letdown.” He says that the school should be responsible for the safety of the students and not hired reckless drivers. The principal, Mr. Khua, has responded to this by filing a lawsuit to the company and firing the bus driver.
Mr. Lin goes on to say, “It’s not the charges of the repairs for my car that I’m worried about. It’s about how we are going to be able to trust the safety of our kids to the school.”
This statement has been agreed on by many other parents. With such doubt in the school now, the principal seeks to regain the trust of the parents in SST. However, wether this works, only time will tell...

Reflection 1-Liau Zheng En
- Based on your understanding of facts and opinions, why do you think this is important to reporters/journalists in the world of online journalism?
When writing a report, it should not be bias or subjective as this might lead to posting their opinion which may be inaccurate or even wrong, and lead to misunderstanding. Since information can be easily viewed throughout the world, this might result in some disputes and create unnecessary trouble.
2. How could the limitations explored in one of the articles be controlled?
To prevent misunderstanding and confusion, the information can be only edited by certain people, which would prevent the chance from having inaccurate information. New information can be verified first before being posted online. Journalists and reporters should be sure of what is written online, and that they have permission to use or write about certain information. Since there is a large number of websites and sources, readers can triangulate or collaborate the information from different sources and identify which articles are relevant.
3. What are some responsibilities of discerning readers?
Discerning readers should be aware of the information posted online and distinguish fact from opinion. Readers should also find information from different sources to have a better understanding of the incident, which would prevent misunderstanding.

1) In journalism, it is better to have correct facts rather than opinions, as facts are true no matter from whose point of view. However, for opinions, they are quite subjective and will change with different people. If the facts presented are false, the journalist may be sued for providing wrong information.
2)The journalists have to make sure that the information they publish is true, and they would have to cooperate with other journalists to make sure that the information they have is true and that they are not reporting biased information. They have to accomplish all these factors while trying to be the first few people who report the new news.
3) The readers must be able to judge between true and factual facts with biased opinions. This way, they can have proper information to read for themselves.

1. These two words help to distinguish and define newspaper articles, as some may be “gossip” and some may be reports. For instance, the reporter may want to say, “It was a bloody massacre.” But then, without the classification of the two words, he may end up saying “Ooooh, that was one bloodthirsty massacre”,where the adding of just a few different words, can give the impression that whatever the reporter says may not be true and he is simply giving an opinion, and was exaggerating it at that. Thus, it is required for reporters and journalists to specifically produce a phrase, sentence, or report according to what meets their requirements. (i.e. state a fact for a fact and not change it to an opinion.)
2.As the article says, the limitations currently are that the information uploaded by anyone is near instantly and thus it is dangerous as there can be faulty information, as the people uploading such information do not need to verify their truthfulness, and often people have the impulse just to “post as you go”. Other limitations also include, but is not limited to, the ability to readily edit anything that is posted on the internet. I.e. anything on the net is unsafe as it can be edited by any other person. Such an example is wikipedia, where people used to delete the actual true informations and spam non-relevant information, as long as you had a wiki account. All of such limitations can be controlled. Common ways are, take wikipedia for an example, checking the information submitted first before it is actually allowed to be viewed by the public on the net. If this one rule is not adhered to, the wiki administrators will issue a warning of spam, then if the offender persists, that warning will lead to an all-out ban. Some sites, like forums, also allow people to post their comments on any article posted. Therefore, if someone submitted faulty information, anyone who views has the choice to post a comment and correct the author’s post. There are also cyber police to stop all this from happening, and if that is not enough, sites can be reported for misinformation.
3.Readers should also be situationally aware, and not just believe in everything a website posts. As the information could be faulty, readers have the responsibility to double check, by means of going to other websites to cross-check the information read. A classic example is wikipedia, where after several readers cross checked information, found out that wikipedia was actually not such a reliable site, as it was fraught with faulty information.

A good understanding of facts and opinions is very important for the reporters/journalists, working with them whenever they go, as it allows them to make reports that are not biased towards one point and allow them to see things in a 3rd person's perspective. It also prevents clashes in opinion between people if the report is not biased as people can calmly evaluate the pros and cons of the issue. Due to the fact that the internet has billions of users and can be easily accessed at any point and time on earth, which causes information on the internet to spread quickly, it is important for reporters/journalists to remain unbiased as their opinions could affect the whole world and cause problems if it displeases the reader.

The reporters/journalists could use other sources of information to verify and determine if the information currently stated is proven to be correct so that the general public can come to an agreement over the published information. It is important to reporters and journalists in the world of online journalism as they have to post the article up on the web immediately and they may therefore end up posting up the wrong info, and this may result in chaos or it will cause the readers to misunderstand the message the journalist is trying to convey, so they must find out if it is a fact or opinion fast and verify them before posting it up on the web to give the readers accurate information.

Different online journalists can work together to ensure that the desire to publish brand new information and the ease of which it can be altered will not cause information to be made accessible before it is verified.

It is important for journalist to understand what is the difference between facts and opinions at the back of their mind, working along with them subconsciously. The reason why reporters and journalists take it so seriously because their works or articles are often being scrutinised by other readers. Opinions of different people clash together, they can create new ideas but also disharmony, journalists must sit on the fence to evaluate the facts and state both the pros and cons of the issue. Having the facts is just one of the essential material for a good report, playing both the roles and giving a perspective on why the person have such a opinion is also crucial.
A article have to be review by several experts on the topics and when the editor approves it. One major problem or advantage is that people can always comment and review the article written. They will spark a debate over the issue and cause a lot of problems. Readers can question and challenge the article which the person had wrote and complain that the writer had taken to extreme views on the issue. Due to the accelerated update of news, many things are always copied by other publishers before some can be verified. For example, if the article leads wrong information, problem between difference writer opinions can the issue can also challenge each other on the facts.
Readers have to disagree sometimes but rules must apply. Readers can write a letter to the publisher stating his/her views on the issue. If a lot of people have discerning perspective, it shows that the journalist have no concrete evidence in convincing people. Normally, if one had to write his/her point of view to the publisher, he/she must also have the kind of solid evidence to condemn the writer and spot his slips. Readers can lash out nasty comments on why the journalist is wrong but he or she must also know what he or she is doing, readers have a lot responsibilities too.

Since opinions may change with people’s perspective, reporters/ journalists have to be careful when inserting opinions and should try as best to avoid using them as they may be offensive to some. Facts, on the other hand, do not change with perspective. However, reporters/ journalists have to be careful to extract accurate information and phrase it well.
As a result, it is important to be able to differentiate facts from opinions, as well as collation of the information, so that the general public can come to an agreement over the published information.
One limitation is that information may be published without verification. This way, the information presented may be offensive and inappropriate. Another would be that other news outlets may be affected as they may want to share the information through other mediums or use it as their exclusive story. This could be overcome by holding onto published information before it makes its way on the web. Only after verification and corroboration with all other news outlets should it be released to the public. Also, contents of other linked webpages could be closely monitored to provide the most up-to-date yet accurate information.
As discerning readers, people should check information with other trust-worthy sources before taking the information seriously.

I think that it is important as reporters/journalists that use online journalism have the power of immediacy in their hands. Due to this convenience, they might just publish a post without thoroughly checking on the information that they have included in their report. This in turn might cause the article to be giving false information and if the article is archived, a lot of people looking for accurate information might mistake the information given to be true. This would be detrimental as many people might have used the information in the article. Using online journalism to publish big stories might also anger rival news crews as they might have been waiting to use the article as their "big story" for their newspaper.

Limitations can be controlled by using credible news websites with accurate information. The publisher should also discuss with his team/colleagues whether to post the story online or not as posting the story might sometimes enrage audiences.

The internet, as it is accessed by many people, grants the advertisers to be able to gain a better profit than publishing their advertisements on the newspapers. The internet's information can be changed much more quickly to update people, but this is both an advantage and disadvantage. One disadvantage will be that because the information can be edited easily, the users can easily add misleading information, even though it might be on purpose. This can lead the users into obtaining the invalid information. So the reporters and journalists should be careful to post valid information even though they can do it with immediacy.

Sometimes, in the haste to publish news quickly, facts are not verified, and sensitive opinions are not omitted. Opinions differ with people, and some people may find another's opinion offensive. Thus, this may made some ethical dilemmas worse due to remarks and opinions posted.

It is important because in online Journalism,the news have to be published in a very short time so it is important to reporters/journalists to tell the difference between fact and opinion otherwise they may end up posting inaccurate or wrong information.Posting before the article is properly written and verified can lead to ethical consequences,as you do not write the article properly and check if it breaks the Codes of Ethics.

Facts are true statements while opinions are based on perspective. It is important to write both facts and opinions in articles as readers usually like a fair share of both. With too many facts, the article may seem boring and dull. But with too many opinions, the readers also will not feel interested in the article. The reporter cannot mistake opinions for facts as that will only confuse the readers.
The reporters have to be sure of which are facts and which are opinions, not be biased. They also have to control their language and not be offensive to the readers. This will help to control the limitations in the article.
If the reporters write in reference to some sources, they should refer to reliable sources. They must also double or even triple check their reports to reduce incorrect information. If they use information from unreliable sources, they will also become unreliable and readers will not continue reading the article anymore.

By delivering the accurate news, it reflects the reporters'/journalists' honesty, fairness, independence and respect for the rights of others.It is important that the journalists present the correct story because for online journalism , the damage is heavier and more widespread, compared to print and broadcast media.Online journalism faces heavy advertising pressure. So, instead of the report itself, the hyperlinks and image links in online report may be the one causing the inaccuracy. However, in the end, it is still up to the journalists to make sure that his report is reliable and accurate.

Because of the immediacy online journalism provides, many people neglect the credibility of the news report. To control this, the journalist should check their sources before publishing the report, even if it takes a little time. In their reports , they should clearly differentiate between a fact and an opinion because in some situations , an opinion may sometimes be looked upon as fact. Another thing journalists should take note of is the censorship of their articles. They should not include in their articles opinions that are too sensitive , vulgar words should also be avoided.

Readers should make sure they are reading from an accurate source. If they happen to spot some errors in the report , they should contact the newspaper agency to tell them of the errors to allow them to correct to the right information before more people read the article. Another way to prevent the widespread of misinformation is for readers to be careful of what they are commenting under the comments section after an article. These comments are read by the public so any misinformation can be spread around very quickly and easily.
